A first for Walk the Wight!
For all animal lovers out there whether it be you, a friend or a someone closer... don’t miss out on this unique experience, the first of its kind, an educational treat, a chance to trek 14 miles with your very own llama or alpaca! Yes, we have something incredibly special for you!
We have teamed up with West Wight Alpacas and Llama's (www.westwightalpacas.co.uk), for the first of what we hope to be many silent auctions for The Llama Walk, in which the 6 highest bidders will enjoy a memorable second half of Walk the Wight from Carisbrooke to The Needles Landmark Attraction with one of these boys:
The Main Man
The Dopey Dude
The Gentle Giant
Mr Cool, Calm & Composed
King of The Isle
Groups of up to 4 people can share the experience of Walking the Wight with either a llama or alpaca, so join forces with your family, friends or work colleagues to come up with your best bid!
Bidding opens at 9am on Friday 11th March and closes at 11:59pm on Monday 2nd May.
Go to the bidding page, read our terms and conditions and place your bid!
All 6 winners will be announced live on IW Radio on Tuesday 3rd May during the breakfast show.
Please note: for health and safety reasons you cannot bid for a specific animal, the animal will be allocated to you. Winners will either be paired with one llama for the whole walk or the two alpacas, who will tag team the distance. Alpaca's don’t like to walk quite as far as llama's.
All proceeds of the auction will go towards our £300,000 Walk the Wight target to support the future of patient and family care from Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
