Walk the Wight

Raise £300k to support the future of patient care

Last year’s walk raised an incredible £270,458.55 for our Community Nursing Team, who provide palliative care and support for patients, their families, friends and carers in their own home, or their residential or nursing home.

This year our target is to raise £300,000 to support the future of patient and family care for our community.

Death, Dying and Bereavement in the UK are changing. A growing, older population means we will see an increase in demand for health and social care services. More people will live longer and will die with multiple chronic illnesses.

Here on the Island, we have a greater proportion of older residents compared with the rest of the country. This means Earl Mountbatten Hospice will be needed more than ever to support our Island to both live and die well. Our services will need to increase if we are to reach all those that need us.

With your help we can ensure the Island’s only hospice continues to offer its services, free of charge, for current and future generations.
